Artist Statement:

I made this piece right after I got my top surgery. I was so ecstatic that I even gave this angel a flat chest just like the one I had finally achieved. I was overjoyed with this new chapter in my life so I used the most colorful paint colors and with bold and thick brush strokes I painted this piece. I felt fearless and free and I think that transcribed in the way I painted it. Being able to live your life with a body that matches your psyche is such a relief. A miracle! And this angel represents that.
